Friday Favorites

Hey ya'll! It's Friday! I'm especially excited because our trip to Charleston and our Bahamas Cruise are only two days away! But we have so much stuff to get done before then - don't worry, I won't bore you with those details!

Anyway, I thought I would make a collage of some things that happen to be my "favorite" right now! All of these are definitely on my wish list but not in my budget. So I'm living vicariously through Polyvore collages :)

Well, that's all for now! I hope to have lots of pretty, tropical pictures to share when we return from our trip!

Happy Weekend! :)

Monday Thoughts

Well, it's Monday again folks. You know what that means - 5 whole work days until you can finally have some fun again!

I have an hour long commute to work so I always use that time to let my mind wander. Here's some of my thoughts for the day:

>> We leave for our cruise on Sunday! Bahamas, here we come!

>> Have you ever seen those #shopmycloset accounts on Instagram? The ones who have tons of clothes they are trying to sell from "their closet." Are those clothes really from their closets or do they buy them from other people and re-sell them? If it's from their closets, mine probably looks pretty pitiful to them. If I gave many of my clothes away, I wouldn't have anything left to wear!

>> I hate Mondays. Especially sticky, rainy, humid ones.

>> There are some super rude people in this world. A girl, who I don't know at all, saw my wedding band and engagement ring on my finger and asked if I knew where my husband bought it and how much it cost. Um, pretty sure I do know but I'm not telling you!

I'll just end on that note.

Lilly Pulitzer + Target Collab

I would just like to start by saying I'm super annoyed right now. I know I wasn't glued to my phone as soon as LP went live on Target.com so when I got on around 10:45 to order the See Ya Later shift dress and saw it was sold out, I wasn't surprised. Ok whatevs. But what just burns me up is that some people, who I like to call the 'Lilly Pulitzer Crazies' bought up everything available at their store or if they ordered online, they ordered 3 of everything in different sizes!! Now they are selling them on Instagram and their online shops for 2x or 3x the price! I saw one person on Instagram selling the exact dress I wanted for $80!!!! Original price was $38. They claim the mark up is for "gas and time". Oh I'm sorry, if you had NOT ordered or picked up everything on the rack, I could've used my OWN gas and time to get my items. Rant over.

Or is it?

Because I'm pretty bitter about it. I wanted ONE thing. And that happens to be the one I keep seeing people post "extras" of. I will be doing great if I don't lose it on someone and get into an Instagram scuffle.

Hi there

So, I guess if I'm going to do this blogging thing, I should probably introduce myself...

Facts about me:

>> I used to own my own business wire wrapping rings. It was called Southern Laurel Boutique. I stopped because I work full-time and didn't have much free time between that job and Southern Laurel Boutique. I wanted to be able to spend more time with my husband and our families.

>> I wanted to start this blog because I loved the sense of community that owning an online store brought, but I needed something that wouldn't require every second of my "free" time.

>> I love to travel and go places. Unfortunately, life doesn't allow us to do that nearly as much as I would like. But hopefully one day I can go to all of the places I'm dying to see.

>> Charleston, SC is my favorite place ever visited so far. There's just something about the atmosphere that I fell in love with.

>> I am pretty sarcastic most of the time...I know - sarcasm is the lowest form of humor - or so they say. I'm super concerned about that, can't you tell? :)

Whew, this starting a blog stuff is exhausting :P

Catch ya later!
